Brake Inspection & Side Skirt Repair

Since I can't trust what the service computer is telling me, I decided to have a good look at the brake discs and pads. The front pads have never been replaced according to the service history with the rear pads being replaced at 43k miles.

4mm of pad material left. Note car was just washed hence the surface rust on the disc.

Wear sensor has another 1 or 2 mm to go before it reaches the second stage trigger.

Clearly the pads are pretty well worn but not bad considering they've covered 73k miles! I was expecting this so had ordered some new pads when I ordered the cabin and oil filters. Unfortunately the discs are also just below minimum thickness at 34.0mm when they should be 34.4mm (36mm when new) so I don't want to replace the pads until I have replacement discs. A job for another day...

While the car was jacked up, I also took the opportunity to replace the missing fixings on the nearside side skirt. I also repaired the slight damage to the sill to floor seam by straightening it out and painting with under body protection paint. The end result is pretty good even if I say so myself...
