SVA Approaches!

Well, the good news is that I am running out of things to do on the car and feel the time has come to book my SVA test and give it a go!

I've been working steadily over the past few weeks getting all the last minute jobs completed and I think I am within 10-20 hours of completion. One of the main jobs still to do is to spray the bodywork but I am in two minds whether to do this myself or just do the prep and primer and get it top-coated elsewhere. I'd love to give it a go but paint costs a fortune these days and I don't want to waste £40 worth of paint and end up with a big mess!

Anyway, bear with me over the next few weeks as I complete my SVA preparation. I need to arrange insurance for the car and get an engine date certificate from the heritage motor centre. Then I should be ready for SVA...

Wish me luck!!

Headlights Working - Beam Pattern

Both headlights have now been wired up and are working perfectly. The only concern I have is whether the dip beam pattern of these headlight is compatible with the requirements of the Single Vehicle Approval test. Here are some pictures showing the beam pattern in dip and main beam.

Update: What I ended up doing was rotating the lens within the housing to give the 15 degree kick up at the left side as required for MOT beam testing. This was accepted at SVA and has passed a couple of MOT's since. Interestingly, I don't think I've actually driven the car at night so I've no idea how effective the lights actually are in practice.
