Polyflex-15 LM polyurethane structural adhesive (wear gloves btw as it is very hard to remove) and Polygrip rivets. These are very good and when the stem breaks it leaves the rivet sealed. The fittings are all M10 x 1mm with convex seats. They go together by cutting the hose cleanly and then pressing the little olive into the space between the braid and PTFE tube. This has to be pressed fully home before inserting the supporting tube on the fitting into the PTFE hose and then screwing on the nut. You can buy the required hose and fittings from Rally Design at a modest cost of about £3.50 per meter of hose and around £2 per fitting. I drilled the holes through both plates before welding to ensure that the holes were exactly in line. I then installed bolts to maintain alignment while welding. The problem is that I just can't get enough heat into it to make the weld flow properly. If I preheat a tube then weld it is fine but I can't preheat full-size tubes, especially on a wooden board so I think I'll need to hire a welder when it comes to seaming it up. I can just about get away with it for tack welding but I'll be left with a bit more grinding to be done later.
